Exploring Global FinTech Innovation at Singapore FinTech Festival 2025
This week, we had the privilege of attending the Singapore FinTech Festival 2025 (SFF2025), one of the world’s most influential gatherings in the FinTech ecosystem.
Discovering the Power and Potential of FinTech
During the festival, we enjoyed an inspiring lunch meeting with experts from cyber securityindustry. Our sincere gratitude goes to one of our foreign supporting cumpanies in Sapporo, for introducing us to such exceptional leaders.
Another conversation that left a strong impression was with a sales director of a treasury and payments platform providoer in Singapore, who shared a perspective that truly resonated with us:
“Finance doesn’t always feel simple or enjoyable. That’s exactly why FinTech matters—because we can make it accessible.”
Before arriving in Singapore, we must admit that our interest in FinTech was not as strong as our passion for BioTech or GreenTech. However, through these discussions and the energy of the event itself, that perception changed completely. We now clearly understand why FinTech is such a dynamic global industry — and why SFF attracts such an extraordinary international audience.
Meaningful Connections and Emerging Technologies
On the first two days of the festival, our schedule was filled with consecutive meetings, leaving little time to explore the exhibition booths. On the final day, however, we had the opportunity to walk through the venue and engage more deeply with cutting-edge technologies.
One particularly memorable encounter was with an AI software and services company from Australia. Their technology enables complex decision-making, question-answering, and natural conversation by connecting processes much like neural synapses in the human brain. Their live demo, featuring a user interface that visualized internal reasoning processes as a brain-like map, was truly fascinating.
Another highlight was meeting a smart-card solutions company from Thailand and their Japanese partner company based in Singapore. They are developing next-generation credit cards using specific Singaporian company's technology, where the built-in chip automatically updates security codes as one-time dynamic values. The card also stays synchronized with the bank’s system, ensuring real-time security updates.
Looking Ahead to Japan and Hokkaido
Throughout the festival, we were struck by how openly and generously companies shared their technologies and insights. we tend to ask many detailed questions about what lies behind user experiences, and every company welcomed these discussions with kindness and clarity.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to one of the representatives from a FinTech start-up network, and everyone who took the time to connect with us.
At Sapporo Transnational Expansion and Partnership (STEP), we are eager to support innovative global companies that are seeking trusted partners and new opportunities in Japan.
If your company is considering expansion into Sapporo or Hokkaido, please feel free to reach out — we would be delighted to support your journey.
