Engaging with Global Innovators at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025

From April 27 to 29, we had the opportunity to attend SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025 for the first time this year, and we were truly impressed by the scale and energy of the event. The overwhelming number of international pavilions and booths made it clear that many companies are strongly interested in expanding into the Japanese market.

As part of our role in business attraction, we joined the event with a clear mission: to identify and engage with global companies that could potentially be invited to Sapporo and Hokkaido within this fiscal year. Throughout the three days, we had numerous meaningful conversations with companies that demonstrated strong potential for future collaboration.

One highlight was participating in a SusHi Tech side event held at the official residence of the French Embassy in Tokyo, organized by Business France. It was truly inspiring to connect with French startups and companies that have already taken concrete steps into the Japanese market. The discussions were forward-thinking, open, and filled with collaborative energy.

Among the standout encounters were:

  • Urban digital transformation and smart city developper
They support smart city development through the analysis of large-scale city data, including traffic flow and energy usage.
  • Industrial chemical solutions provider
They drive innovation and sustainability across sectors such as semiconductors, automotive, and telecommunications, offering advanced solutions for soldering, cleaning, coating, and cooling.
  • Software Developper
They are an impressive startup leveraging AI to enhance security and detect data tampering with high precision.

Beyond the French ecosystem, we were grateful for the opportunity to speak with many other inspiring leaders and innovators throughout the event. Our sincere thanks to go many supporting organizations who generously shared their time and insights.

Sapporo and Hokkaido are actively promoting key sectors such as green energy, biotechnology, IT solutions, and semiconductors, and we are excited about the possibilities ahead. We look forward to moving toward more concrete discussions and collaborations with the companies we met during SusHi Tech Tokyo.

Experiencing such innovation firsthand—and connecting with the people behind it—was both motivating and energizing. We look forward to seeing many of you again soon.
